what we have

it's interesting to think about what we have.
we have a stable government, that we can openly complain about
we have a hospitals and doctors that are accessible
we have freedoms of speech
freedoms of protest
freedoms of religious choice
we have freedom to complain
we can watch tv
search the internet
go to rallies
buy things over the internett
write letters and send emails with a certain amount of security
we have privacy
we have the ability to forget the freedoms we have
we can be blase about our freedoms
yet, if you thought about other places in the world
where people do not have contact with the media
the media is government controlled
where you are visited in your home any time by authorities
where you can only get into hospital if you have lots of money
where the police are a luxury or worse than the criminal elliment
where religion is not a choice and choice is a mythical word
where to complain comes with a permanent holiday with a very small room
where you do not write anything down
and emails must be in code
and to go to rallies means to have your picture taken and put on a black list
then you realise what we have
unlike many countries around the world
we have choice
that's what we have

Constructive criticism welcome.
Destructive criticism to be left at a public toilet.
