A dog barking in the night

the dog barks and growls
the dog sniffs and whimpers
the dog marks the territory

this dog stains the area
the area gets wider and wider
this dog claws and scratches
as stamp of authority
this dog does not let go

Sometimes the dog leaves
you feel good, but the dog comes back
as it has been said  this dog does not let go
this dog sometimes goes quiet
don't get comfortable because this dog is always there
this dog likes to play mind games
this dog likes dog likes to play with flames

if you're lucky this dog will only bark in the night
